Jelly Sandwich Skittles with OPI, Lippmann, Nailventurous and Lynnderella

I've been dying to try a Jelly Sandwich manicure which is where you layer jelly (or sheer) polish with a layer or two of a glitter polish in between. My only sheers are pinks, so I decided to layer between OPI Pink Friday and the classic Bubble Bath.

I've tagged the photo, but L-R is OPI Rainbow Connection, Deborah Lippmann Today Was A Fairytale, Lynnderella Boy Girl party and Nail-Venturous Pinkerbell. I did one layer of OPI Pink Friday, then one layer of the glitters and finished off with 2 layers of OPI Bubble Bath.

A bottle shot of all the polishes used.

I quite like the overall effect, sort of interesting without being in your face mega glitter. My favourite combination is Rainbow Connection followed by Boy Girl Party. I tried using Lynn Sweets to the Sweet but it looked rather awful for some reason. Also TWAF has a grey jelly base, so it altered Pink Friday but I'd love to try it with a grey jelly like the one from the OPI Ballet Collection.

Finally a crop of all the polish. Clockwise from top, Rainbow Connection, TWAF, Boy Girl Party and Pinkerbell.

Which one is your favourite? Would you try this at home?

  3. I don't recognise rainbow connection there!

I have a hangover against glitters. I still cannot get over how hard it is to remove them.
