Allegra Rhodes Hand & Nail Cream and Body Wash Review

Today I have two beautiful bath and body products to share with you, that I've been reviewing for a month, from Australian company Allegra Rhodes. The Cherry Blossom Hand and Nail Cream and Cherry Blossom Body Wash.

Allegra Rhodes' products are all made in Australia and are free from parabens, sulphates and best of all, aren't tested on animals. What sets them apart from other companies is the fact they use the finest eau de parfums to scent their products for everyday luxury.  The Hand and Nail Cream is $32.95 and the Body Wash is $29.95 - expensive in my eyes, though I think for the quality and fact it's all Australian, the price is justifiable. Especially if you are comparing to such brands as Jo Malone, L'Occitane etc.

The two products came beautifully gift boxed, which immediately put me in a positive mind frame for the review - I am a sucker for decent packaging. The boxes inside the gift box were sturdy with a nice design on them, so I wouldn't hesitate buying these products as a gift for someone.

I was also pleasantly surprised with the size of each product, as the Hand and Nail Cream is 175ml and the Body Wash is 450ml. Quite generous. I also love the pump pack each product has, which makes it easy and mess free to apply. Also in the shower, there is nothing worse than having to try and unscrew something, so the pump was much appreciated. One pump of each product was sufficient for its purpose.

Each fragrance has a unique colour strip down the side to differentiate them. Other fragrances include Sweet Apple and Grapefruit, Red Lychee and Ocean Mist. Let me say the Cherry Blossom fragrance was incredible. Easily the best smelling products I own, because the scent is rich, decadent and long lasting. The Cherry Blossom is a mix of cherry and freesia with a hint of amber and musk.
The Hand and Nail Cream scent was about 50% stronger than the Body Wash, with the scent in the shower lasting a few minutes after you're done, as opposed to the Hand and Nail scent (which I've been keeping on my office desk) being noticeable when someone walked into the room. For this reason though, I don't use the product at night as I did find it overpowering whilst going to sleep.

The Hand and Nail Cream applied well and I felt it hydrated well. I was concerned the strong Eau De Parfum could counteract the product and be drying, but I didn't experience dryness. Similarly with the Body Wash, no dryness and I didn't have any sensitive reactions to the products. In fact, my skin has been feeling softer during use. Although quite rich, the Hand and Nail Cream has a very light, lotion-like texture and sinks in immediately. Equally, the Body Wash isn't too thick and foams lightly.
I think both products do as they promise, and after a month I still haven't managed to make a sizeable dent in the bottle, due to the nice large sizes. If you only buy one product from Allegra Rhodes though, I'd choose the Hand and Nail Cream over the Body Wash.

If you would like to try these products, head on over to the Allegra Rhodes website - free delivery for orders over $50 and if you buy three products today or tomorrow, you are entitled to a 30% discount.

Feel free to like their Facebook and Pinterest too. What do you think about the products? Like the idea of a strong scent? Think the price is justified? Let me know.

These products were sent to me for review, the thoughts are all my own and are in no way influenced by the company.

  1. Pretty packaging! And for once not a flowery design on a cherry blossom body wash. I think i have to smell these in real life before making a judgement call.
